The brakes on my car seem to creak when i brake, i only notice it when the windows are open, and with the warmer weather i have just started to notice it now again. I have brembos, so is this a problem that other 20VT drivers experience or just me? If just me, can any one suggest what the issue maybe??

Could be warped/cracked discs. Are they vented or drilled by any chance? It could also be pickup on the discs if you have braked hard and held the brakes on as you stopped. The bremos are 4 pot? so don't have sliders to worry about?

Could you elaborate on the creak? Have you checked for worn suspension?

Creaking? or more of a squeaking? The discs could be warped, that's common on the brembo calipers. When did you last change the discs and pads? is braking performance okay? do you smell cooking brakes when you get out the car after driving normally?

they are the 4 pot ones yes, dont smell any cooking or anything like that! Its a sort of creak where by its minimal at first, then it gets worse or louder the harder you press it. The discs are normal ones, no vents or drilled holes, however, i have just ordered the vented ones found on the LE's. I have not had to change the brake discs or pads since i bought the car in 2004 as i only do about 5000 miles a year! it is due for a service, so maybe they will tell me if it needs anything doing. Does anyone know where is good to get a turbo car serviced in the north west??? maybe that will have to be a seperate thread!

ace, have booked it in for a service and told the guy of the issues that i have with the brakes, he says he will look at it when he gets the car! many thanks!!(y)

It could be the brake pipes.... sometimes they creak as they expand with the fluid passing through. Or as mentioned it might be the pads on their last legs! I have the same kinda sound on my cinq the now.

it doesnt seem to matter whether the brakes are cold or not, so it seems like it maybe the theory of the fluid passing through the pipes, guess the garage will be able to tell me what is going on!
