Technical Crankshaft pulley ....wobble

Went to the garage to replace some belts and was shown the crankshaft pulley wobbling. Garage said no point in putting a new belt as it will wear out just as quick and should get pulley changed. The screeching when cold is annoying.

Kind of strange as I thought if anything perhaps its the bolt that causes the wobble .... if so can it not be replaced without a new pulley or do they come as one part hence the need for the whole pulley contraption??

Anyone know of the top of their head the part number for this ( crankshaft pulley )... btw its a 02 Stilo Abarth.

Also, anyone know any decent second hand places I could try and get this from as garage said they are costly new ( over £160 ).

Just checked the ePER, I think its item 6 in the diagram - £194.51 including VAT from Fiat.

yep thats right!


might be worth getting them to remove crank pulley and putting it back on straight though! or at the very least figuring out why its 'wobbling'

Oh don't tell me we've got a problem with crankshaft pulley integral rubber damper disintegrating on petrol engines too!
