Hi all

Having some problems with my Multi conking out during driving....

1. Car cuts out, won't restart for 15-20 mins, recovery guy thought it may be the fuel filter ?

2. Car cuts out during driving with just the engine light on (no others) so no loss to power steering etc but I'm able to bump it as it's moving no problems and it continues to drive

3. 'Engine Ctrl Error' message on LCD display, this sometimes comes on witht above either before or after.

Some searches point to crank sensor, is it likely to be that rather than the fuel filter ? What is a crank sensor and is it a design flaw ?

Appreciate any pointers, thanks ;)

Hello mate,

I take it you have the JTD?? If so then I would put my money on a dying crank sensor. Sounds like the classic symptoms.

Have a look at this GUIDE which has dignosis/ symptoms and how to fix it for around £25.

Hope that helps,
Alan

Great Stuff...

Shop4parts has got one listed... S4P2837 - Crankshaft Sensor (CKP/RPM) - (CF2 Engine)

Is a 2001 51 plate 1.9 JTD most likely to be a CF2 ?
