When I had the bonnet open working on the battery I noticed that the coil pack seemed to be falling apart, corrosion and splitting on one of the posts and splitting and cracking on the body exposing rusty steel. I thought it was best to replace it before it failed, occasionally I've been getting stuttering and a brief cutting out.

I bought the cheapest new one I could find, £25 delivered from Click Car Parts on eBay, it arrived very quickly and on a Sunday, have just fitted it.
The car runs fine with it, with nearly 140,000 miles on the clock I'm not expecting the car to last longer than the cheap coil pack.
It's an easy job to do, a 10mm spanner, same as the negative terminal on the battery ( disconnected before doing anything), and a small screwdriver to tweak the metal clip off the ht connector. It's all pretty idiot proof, the plug lead terminals are all numbered and just pull off/push back on, just to be safe I uses tape to label the leads but it's obvious just by looking which is which.
