I think that cam cover is from a MPI seicento that has a cam phrase sensor (Andy got one of them). Not sure if it causes the rough running. Is there any hole or anything like in that thing?

Do you know why was the cam cover replaced?

like this one: http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&item=110507474907&ssPageName=STRK:MESELX:IT

Thats a great shout actualy! i havent done much with mpi's, just really spi's

why would a cam cover be replaced? im guessing theres been a rocker oil leak that someones struggled to cure and have replaced the cover aswell as the gasket in the hope the cover had an uneven surface.

makes me wonder aswell if a few other bits have been pinched from an mpi and unkowingly put on an spi.....hmmmm

nah havent had the time on the net lately so have only seen this today :)

so just blank that hole over that should be that then ??

Am not sure if it will solve ur problem, but if there is a leak in the cam cover, then it is the same as having an air leak. So it can never reach full throttle, where you have a drop in rev, when you hit certain rev range.

Can;t be sure, may be try an cover it with something (airtight) and see if it has an affect on it ? Or get anothr cam cover and see if it helps (this probably be easier) May br MrCento has a spare cam cover for you ?

well slighlty better news today on bumbob :) me and mrcento hasd a wee look at his yesterday and turns out the ht leads are the wrong way round :)

number 4 was on 1 and 1 was on 4 oops but swapped them both around and its idleing so much better now and can rev all the way to redline no prblems although didnt cure the backfire :( so still to check the timing and get a blanking plug thingy :)
