I am considering selling my Bravo to fund a coupe turbo. Does anyone know wot sort of power a 2.0 16v turbo puts out standard?. Im not sure if im making the right decision. Any help apreciated.
The 16v turbo puts out 195bhp!! About 0-60 in 6.8 secs
It is a good car, very fast, but the 20v turbos are better, 220bhp standard and o-60 in bout 6secs and 155mph top speed. BUt it all depends on ur budget?!
I am only just 19 years young, so cant get insured on a 20v turbo, 16v turbo is only £1200 fully comp. But i dont know if it will be as much fun as my bravo cos iv never driven one, wots reliability like??.
IT will be much more FUN than ur bravo? which bravo do u hav?? Its got better handlin for starters, and once lowered will be even better....it was rated as the best coupe in its time, either with the 16vt or the 20vt....so u wont be let down in terms of fun!!
Also reliability is supposed to be quite good on the coupe's. But make sure u get one with full service history, as a non serviced one may not be so reliable, although it will be slightly cheaper than one with FSH.
I have a 99 T reg HLX in Broom Yellow, really nice car. Just went out in my mates scooby.........and now i want a car with turbo power. Im not sure how much i will get for the bravo. Its in really good cond, and has only just hit 38K with full fsh.
Yup, want one too.
Prefferably a 20V turbo version. think they still have the same problem as an hgt with regards to expensive cam-belt changes. Not sure about the 16V turbo though - probably cheaper to change belt.
Anyway, my hgt is too slow and even though i haven't even been driving a year, i still think a coupe is the way to go! 20V only!
make sure you don't bash the front up a new bonet will cost you £480 and thats not from fiat.. as all fiats with age you will hear rattling in the car and never find out where it comes from nice car's the coupe, the 2l 20v turbo has the bullet proof engine thats in the HGT. this was one of the best engines ever made by fiat..
You sure? Since i post on there most days i know there isnt any 400bhp ones..........yet
One is being built at the moment and will be an animal when it comes out.
Tom the coupe 16vt can be easily taken to 230 - 240bhp with 280 - 290lbs torque for a simple chip change of £150, this will be then quicker than a 20vt.
As for cambelt change, easy peasy on the 16vt's as the engine doesnt need to be moved to the side to get access to the belts, a decent specialist should be able to do a full belt change, with all tensiors and water pump done for no more than £300
