I have a 1996 16v NA coupe. It has a long list of minor niggles, some of which I may choose to share with you here in the near future, but for now the most pressing problem is how it runs...
Until it fully warms up, it's jerky pulling away and when in the higher gears. Basically doesn't like cruising - at 30-40 in 4th it stutters. It has also been known to stall when pulling up at traffic lights. Basically makes me look like a crap driver
Performance doesn't seem to be affected. Once it has run for about 30mins it settles down.
I reported this at last service (over 6 months ago) and at the time they put it down to a blocked breather pipe. But the problem has come back and it has got streadily worse in the last few months. Could it be this again and how best do I go about cleaning it?
Could it just be dirty spark plugs. If so, how do I get them out - I can see the covers for them, but nowhere to remove them!? Come on peeps, back to basics - I am no mechanic, although a lot of you lot seem to be
