coupe engine

i can get my hands on a 20v coupe turbo engine and all equipment needed for a engine swap for £400. will the engine go into a bravo? ideas on cost of this work? please dont tell me its a silly idea i already know that and i know you need to uprate all the breaks too.

does anyone have any knowledge and/or know people who carry out this kind of work

Do you want to put it into an HGT or non HGT?

Does it have the gearbox, driveshafts, front hubs etc..?

If the engine has got all the bits that you need and you decide the job is too big i may be interested especially for £400!!!!

one question which i know has been asked before but cannot remember the answer. Would the engine fit in a 1.6 bravo without changing the wheel arches or any other major bits of body work? One for tom i think.

Only if you had custom driveshafts made to fit the coupe gearbox to the 1.6 hubs. And that would set you back LOTS of money.

would i not be able to use the 2.0 20v drive shafts and hubs?

No, the coupe driveshafts are longer and the coupe hubs need the HGT style outer ball joint which only comes on the HGT lower arm.

damn there goes that i dear, i dont suppose there is a chance the 16v turbo is any different?

The 16vt will fit the normal bravos. It will mate to a gearbox which is pretty similar to the 1.8.

You'd have a hell of a job anyway as you'd have to replace all the brakes, new fuel system etc...

Look closely at your 1.6, the inner CV joints are inside the gearbox
