Hi all,

Does anyone know if these will squeeze behind 15" rim with a zero offset?

The offset could make the difference, wheels are compomotive mo's if that helps..

Thanks

Tom

Not sure, but the Brembos normally fit behind 16" wheels, and they're a tight fit. So much so that there is a very limited range of 16" wheels they will actually fit behind without spacers.

Hi,

Yeah i did some searching and noticed spacers were mentioned a few times, where do they catch, do you know?

How much clearence do 16's have from the wide at its widest, so furthest from the spokes or in the middle of the rim....if that makes sense.

My 15's have a zero offset, so the area of alloy that grows in complity and thickness on most wheel near the spokes isn't an issue.

Thanks

Tom

I have to admit it wasn't very confident they would fit but as the distance between the spokes and the calipers seemed the issue i thought there might just be a chance..

Now you come to mention it i'll ask Dunc to take a look as he has the same wheels, albeit with a different offset in 16's i think..

Hey thanks, i've PM'd dunc and as i've been writing this sentance he's got back to me!

Looking at the pics and before reading his PM i'm optimistic to be honest because the caliper only gets close (from what i can see) to the rim where the rim builds up in thickness near the spokes, as i suspected.. anyway i'll read his reply.

Many thanks for yours!

Well he had to go and wee on my fire! lol

I have questioned what he said but i think its a no no sadly.

Whats the next best as a brake upgrade option that i can source second hand, i dont know where to start!?

PGT maybe...

Tom

Nah, punto GT only uses 260ish mm discs. Get the calipers from a Bravo 20v, Marea 20v or Marea 2.4 diesel. They have 284mm discs. Some have bigger pistons (Coupe 16vt vs Coupe 16v). All should fit under 15" wheels fine. May need spacers depending on the alloys.

Thanks Hellcat, i'll get digging.

Spacers? zero offset = 35mm spacers ;)

Tom

I have similar Brembo calipers and 305mm discs on my Alfa 156 with 16" rims (and 15mm spacers), there is no visual clearance between the caliper body and the balance weights on the rim! It just clears but you would need a feeler gauge to measure the clearance.
There is absolutely no way they would fit under 15" rims.
As a point of reference, AP make a race kit for the 156 with 295mm discs that fits with 15", so that is probably the top limit. Even that only clears with specific 15"rims.
