I have been looking up at the details of sticking a 2 litre turbo coupe running gear into a hlx and I was wondering if anybody here has done it yet I see the post on the HGT conversion. but can any bodie tell me if the gear box from the coupe needs to be fitted as well? and is it a 5,6 or 7 speed box I cant find out much on the car as fiat dont make it any more and I havn't had much luck in finding sites that can tell you what u need to know other than the crape that fiat try to sell you when you buy the thing from new. the 0-60mph looks very tempting to have under me bonnet 6.8sec I like the sound of that oh yes I do :)
so any bodie have any advice please post I need to know more I have already started to go through the finder parts sites to see if i can get any idea on price as I think I can only have from about 1995 to 1996 and the it turned into the 20v turbo coupe if im wrong please let me know so I dont get ripped of by a brakers yard. And if you can let me know if I need anything else other than
Engine
Gear box
wireing loom (Complete)
fuel pump
all pipes (rad and turbo)
turbo
manifold exhaust and inlet
rad
intercooler

anything else?? oh and try and get to see the car running from a brakers yard correct?

I have just been to the coupe web site and posted there to see if I can get me hands on a 16v coupe I hope they dont get to offended over there they seem to be very how can I put it
I think if they could the car would sleep in the double bed upstairs and they would get the garage if you know what I mean :)

For your own sake, dont EVER slag off the coupe, they will seek you out and destroy you....lol
 
gearbox

you cant use the coupe gear box as it isnt hydraulic linkages or summink i think? you need a tipo 16v box and the drivesahafts, gearlever and hubs off it

urm, think you had everything else on the list!

I know the bravos have the hydrolic gear box i just assumed fiat put it all all there cars mind you dont know why they put it on you cant change gear as fast as you can in a normal car never mind its still an ok car to drive around in so I will let them get away with it. the guys at the coupe site have been quite helpful and have told me of some places that brake coupes and even of cheap coupes up for sale. I dont think they minded until i said the car could end up in max power :) they asked if that was a threat lol
would it be better to buy a coupe in once peace or buy it from a brakers already in peaces this is the biggest conversion i have ever done so im not to certain what to do does anybody know where the HGT 20v coupe is being done so I could speak to them about this conversion

The coupe forum is run by one of the most childish woman I have ever met in my life! Any one who was at the Christmas meet and was there late doors will back me up on that. Words like minger and elephant woman come to mind!! So abuse them all you want matey! hehe

I quite fancied a coupe turbo but the minger has actually me off buying one.
I may have to drop a 16v turbo into my Bravo too. With My nitrous kit I could be getting 300BHP!!

Allan Wall is gonna be the first person do do it and I can't wait to see the results!

Rob, be careful, they use these forums occasionaly and wouldnt want to bump into her again on a meet! It was nice of you all to help me out at Xmas when she put all her attention to me and wouldnt shut up about Coupe pens and membership cards!
She went on about them for an hour!!! All I could notice when she was speaking was the gap the size of the mersey tunnel in her teeth! Maybe they were her tusks!!!

I don't really care anon (did you witness her rantings? mail me who u r aswell) its her boyfriend I feel sorry for.

He seems like a really nice guy too. Infact he is a nice the sort of guy you can have nice conversation with him about cars etc.

I actualy turned my chair round so I was facing away from her to end the childish argument and the silly girl still continued to bang on. I saw her boyfriend kick her under the table to shut her up! As even her boy friend was embarrassed by her ranting!
