The studs that attach the generator to the fan shroud/cowling on my 500F got ripped out. Any thoughts on how to repair this? Or should I just replace the shroud?

Has that been ripped apart or a poor attempt at a modification? A decent welder could repair that but replacements are not hard to get here in the UK. I have got a couple of good spare ones.

I would replace. Judging by the heat marks the impeller has been catching on the inside. It can be quite a fine tolerance between that and the shroud, and the studs need to be accurately located.. If there has been deformation of the cowling you might struggle to achieve a good fit.

Completely agree with Peter---whilst it IS possible to repair, the chances of not fouling the fan blades with the repair and also rectifying the cause of the studs pulling out are slim. My advice would be to take up "Toshi's" offer and get yourself another one of that section of shroud.
