Hi, this is my first post here... hope someone can help(!)
Noticed the other day coming home from work in freezing temperatures that the heater was blowing cold. Didn't think much of it until I read some posts on this forum.
The coolant chamber was empty so I quickly filled again (50/50 mixture). Heater now working - result! Kept an eye on the coolant level, seemed OK. Today, after parking-up I noticed a wet-patch on the floor, just below the oil filter - the coolant was leaking.
After looking at all the advice written here, I then checked the 'usual suspects' for signs of a blown HG. Again, all seems OK. No bubbles in the oil (from dipstick) no emulsions on or around filler-cap. No steam from exhaust, and definitely no temp. warning light on dash. The car is only used for short journeys to work and back (12 miles each way) so I may have been lucky in regards to the HG (I hope
)
Now, here's the odd part; the coolant was dripping whilst the car was parked in a level position. One drip every 10 seconds or so. Later today, after a short journey, I parked-up on the kerb - passenger-side. And now there seems to be no leak! :bang:
Frank.
