Hi all,
New to this forum.
I own a 1976 fiat 127 903ccm.
Just in the process of rebuilding the car from scratch and got a small confusion when started assembling the connecting rods in the crank case.
The rods were taken from fiat 850 which rotates counterclockwise.
The 127's engine rotates clockwise.
The manual says that the stamped numbers on the conrods along with the oil spraying holes should be farthest from the camshaft.
The rods I got have spray holes only on one side (the stamped numbers side) but if I locate them towards the major thrust, this is the opposite side....I can drill another hole in the other side to be on the safe side (and help anyway with oiling/cooling the minor thrust side) but I believe that another important reason for the rods orientation is the asymmetrical location of the wrist pin which needs to be in sync with the rod orientation....
Any thoughts???
Thx!
