I've got a nice low mileage 128 3p, 1290ccc, but the engine's out, needing a new liner, piston and con rod.
There's no specific section for the 128 but this Uno forum is my best bet. I've been asking around everywhere, these parts aren't easy to find. The Haynes manual as usual has contradictory specifications so I can't rely on that.
I've been trying to find a 1116 engine for the rods but I'm not sure if they're the same. I read somewhere that the 1290 and 1499 engines were a match....all very confusing, advice please?
Re pistons, Ebay advertisers suggest 1290 and 1499 ones are the same but I suspect that's wrong, they don't care, buy their pistons and it's my fault for not checking out properly. As I see the 3p is 86.0 mm, the 1.5 piston is 86.4.
Can I bore out to 86.4 and are the pistons the same height?
Any help or parts greatly appreciated.
