hi folks, needing help with vista, how do i disable permissions when im trying to install something that vista dont like?

cheers in advance

if you mean the user account control thingy its simple

first is to activate run command

right click your taskbar and go to properties

then click start menu and click customize

look for the run command option and turn it on (its near the bottom)

once thats done click your windows button and if you lookat your menu it will have run in the bottom right now click that

type in msconfig

then go to tools
and down to disable UAC then launch and reboot computer

done it, but it kept coming up the same. tbh its a password activate thing i was trying to open, but got round it another way, cheers bud.

only problem with vista, is that occasionally you can't get a program to work with it, so you have to go through setting the compatibility to xp!

other than that, its not too bad, but i would change to linux in an instant if it was a little clearer on how to install programs onto it!:furious:

Had the exact same on my Dell when I had BSOD issues for a while.

Got a copy of Vista, but let's just say it wasn't legit and self destructed. Got Ubuntu and although it worked, it wasn't very intuitive. Plus the damn window resizing was a pain...very imprecise. Still, as my Dad keeps saying, it is a free OS.

So, now I'm back with XP :D
