That head unit makes no mention of having a CD Changer input. You'd be best looking for a decent HU, preferebly Sony if you are going for that changer. A Sony changer compatible HU is your best bet. I'm looking at the same changer to go with my Sony CDX650.

Thanks Rob, I just like the idea of a card reader, solves my CD skipping problems!! lol

A decent HU will not give you skipping problems, neither will that changer :)

I can't recollect a time when my Sony HU skipped. It has a 3 beam laser and quite a bit if cache.

Rite, well I may have to consider a different HU then! :)

Thanks for the advice Rob,

Martin

ALL CD players are 3 beam.

Generally a brand X changer only works with a brand X head unit.

My Sony CDX-M800 skips regularly on bad roads, only for a second, but highly irritating. Just to add injury the bastid thing has now decided to save energy by intermittently going blank (on the internal screen). Oh Joy. Maybe ill buy an Alpine next time!

I still rate Sony, but maybe less so in the Xplod department. Home cinema and electronics, yes.

Is the front panel removable ? If so, just clean the contacts with some contact cleaner (£1.99 from Maplins) and a cotton bud.

I have to say, I have 2 Sony HU's (one is now redundant as it used to be in Jackie's Sei) and they have both been very reliable and sound very nice. I'm no ICE expert and don't demand 1000's of watts of power, but they seem to do the job very well for my needs :)

If you want something pretty good and reliable go for JVC. Sony has become contaminated with the corsa/saxo bug over the last few years and is more flash than anything else.

If you're a feature whore then alpine is for you :)
