I put FK coilovers on my 01 HGT & the handling is now mental..! Roll on the end of the month when i have finished the turbo conversion...! Here are a few sites i was looking at when i was looking for them

I've had two sets of FK's and they are worth every penny. Def go fot the silverline (stainless steel option) though as the allow threads soon rust up on the Highline, and when you order I'd recommend you ask them for 100N springs which they will swop foc. I'd order new top mounts too. Ciao

I was looking at some coilovers for my GT but was warned off them as they can sieze up and strip the thread??
Do you reckon it's the cheaper one's that do that and the more expensive one's wont??
I believe they are very hard too??

I did not have a rust issue with the FK highsports.
They did however wear just as quickly as normal shocks. No matter how much you spend you will end up with worn out shocks and shoddy handling.

I got my first set of FK's about 5 yrs ago. they didn't rust all that much (would clean up) but for the sake of having adjustable / threads the stainless are so much sexier.
Ride can be a sujective / personal thing, but I found they improve both comfort and handling immensely ciao.

iv got Fk's on my 1.6...well and truely worth it handling is improved by miles, body role decreased and stance...well thats a different issue..

1.6, and yes its steep. If I was going to do it again I'd go bilstein shocks and eibach springs.

I was looking at Koni FSD's and eibach springs for my alfa, that seems to be the option of choice on alfa forums.
However, I find alfa forums to be the older generations so their idea of 'to stiff' could be 'just right' for the likes of me lol.
The koni/eibach set up is more expensive too.

Alfas are not supposed to have a hard ride though, unless its a GTV or 75 cloverleaf
Got to get my finger out and do the rear bushes on my 166. If I was going to put 'coilovers' on it (given that its already got coilovers all round) I'd be looking at something better than FK.

I went visiting a friend on the weekend who lives in the country side. As always, I gave the GT a good thrashing down the wider country lanes that I know fairly well.
The suspension is just to soft for that kind of high speed driving. What annoys me, is that it's fairly harsh to begin with so you get all the disadvantages of stiff suspension with none of the advantages.
So, yesterday I bit the bullet and bought these:

You could say I'm a little excited lol.
I'll only be dropping it a maximum of 35mm.
Once fitted, I'll be taking it to a profesional outfit to corner weight it and set everything up so it's perfect (a must apparently).

I didn't pay anywhere near £1200 lol!!

Got them from a place in Germany.
With VAT, delivery and the extra bit that paypal add on (w ankers) the total came to £800. Still pretty expensive but they are a good set up.
