hi everyone
i am a lover of the old fiat 1.9 td ulysse i curently have two on the road both 1996 but the clutch is gone in one i was thinking of diy and am asking is it as easy as it looks wheel of drive shafts out jack up bolts out from bell housing and pull to the side or am i fooling my self is there any tricky bits before i start

not quite as easy as that but easy if you know how
battery disconnect always
clutch cable or hyd line
starter removal reqd etc ?
gearlinkages
has it got a subframe that mounts everything to it - they can be tricky as engine mounts steering rack rad and gbox can be mounted to them and need suspended from above.

never done one of these btw

by the age of it i guess it has no csc or dmf so will be just a conventional 3 piece clutch kit

no sub frame just chassis battery out air filter etc already got clutch kit just three piece convential just not sure on droping suspension or what else may be needed

the norm is to undo track rod end and seperate lower balljoint and droplink if fitted
maybey need to watch brakeline or abs wires etc
this will allow strut/spring and hub to be pulled out of the way to remove driveshaft if you undone the hub driveshaft nut first lol

then a case of all the bolts and linkage syou see from there that touch the gearbox

drain gbox oil first to save a mess when pulling driveshaft out

check if you need anything special other than basic hand tools and a handlamp
e.g. torx bits or similar

aye you should be fine
go for it , its a nice wee learning curve
if you can do one you can do most

Hi 8 Valver,

Hmm.
Brielfy, looked at suspension for a different reason: don't (yet) have manual.

Didn't like the look of the drop-link tosion bar arrangement. Lot of force in there.

MOT advisory on CV boot (nothing wrong with it, either static or in motion), but looking into jobs on this 98 model.

Any wise words?
