Problem guys....another one!

Today was sitting at traffic lights with the foot on the clutch, ready to move off when suddenly it seemed to give way and staretd sqealing.

It now squeals whenever the clutch pedal is pressed and goes away as soon as I let it back up again!

Is this likely to be the slave cylinder which is common on the Punto or the release bearing? Cant be arsed shelling out another £200 or so replacing the clutch when I could do the Slave cylinder myself for far cheaper!

Help!

Well going by advice given on PSC it looks like its the release bearing thats away that needs sorted ASAP or its likely to take the box...as it is the car sounds rotten just on ticking over! :(

So its a fair walk for me tomorrow to go on the hunt for a release bearing, which I've also been told is easy enough to fit by myself! :?

Well...new clutch kit (release bearing, plates, fork) and some runner thing before the fork....and the car is now SOOOOOOo smooth when changing gear and driving!

Its like a totally different car! I should have had a new clutch fitted years ago if thats what the car is supposed to feel like!

Its pretty much fixed the dodgy idling, etc...only thing wrong with it now is this bloomin rattle between 2000 and 3000 revs! But I'll be having a look at the Throttle body at the weekend hopefully!
