Hi There,

I'm Bastiaan, living in the Netherlands and new on the forum. I recently acquired a beautiful 1968 500F, which needs some mechanical TLC.
I've already found some great information on this forum using the search function.

On this subject i couldn't find anything: On the parts market here in Europe, there are clutch plates for sale that have coil springs integrated, as most modern cars have. This would reduce vibration.

Does anyone have experience with these plates in a classic 500? Are they better then the standard type, without springs?

I can only answer with my experience; I have a tuned 126 engine in the back of my 500 and use the 'flat-spring-plate' type centre plate in the clutch (as against the type with 3 springs). I have experienced no trouble, or juddery clutch, at all. It is possible to get a 'flat-spring-plate' type centre plate that is asbestos free.
