I have a 1995 Tempra 1.6ie SX and lately have been experiencing issues in selecting gears. On a cold start first thing in the morning, the gear are a bit difficult to select and the 2nd crunches every time I use it for the first few minutes. I replaced the clutch last August and had the gearbox opened as I had the main bearing replaced. The oil is filled nearly to the brim, as at first I thought that since it is worse in cold, it must be the oil. But apparently it is not.
I thought that I might check the gear linkage (right under the gearbox) to see whether there is any corrosion there.
Any pointers please?
