New ECU and injectors required!

Luckilly, the guy who we bought the 145 off had a remaining 5 months warranty. Even more luckilly, he agreed to have it repaired on our behalf.

What was I saying about not needing a "red" key?

Thanks for your interest, Chaps!

Anyway, now that all it's maladies are (hopefully) cured; I am thoroughly convinced that it would gobble up a HGT, without getting too out of breath.

In my experience, the HGT is lame at low revs and the power washes off too quickly when the revs fall - they have to be driven permanently in "idiot mode" to get much excitement from them.

I'm not trying to irritate anyone and I know a few HGT owners (past and present) will agree that they're simply not as hast as 147 or 154 BHP suggests.

This Cloverleaf's engine characteristics and very akin to that of the Sedicivalvole Tipo - so, on that statement, does anyone know if they share the same engine block?

Either way, neither are as quick as my Focus, but the Cloverleaf looks mighty cool!!

No arguments/debates??

Come on gents, let's discuss the postive merits of Cloverleafs' and HGTs'respective power

Having only had an HGT and not a 145, I couldn't say. I agree with your description of the HGT, balls out or nothing, but plenty of top end. Struggled in a 0-60 or traffic light GP, which brings back memories of an almost embarrassing moment racing a Renault 16 Chamade 16v that nearly did me until I got the HGT into 4th and it started to leave it behind :)

Have to be honest and say that even my Mondy TDCi would give an HGT a run for it's money ;)

Those Ford TDCi oil burners certainly have some poke. I'm not sure that they're as mighty as the VW's though.

When we picked up the 145, I struggled to keep up with a Focus Oil Burner. 130bhp?

in my oppion, i think the bravo feels like it has more then 150bhp when in idiot mode, but when you have it anywhere below 4.5k you might aswell be walking!lol...

i find the mid range on my hgt kills alot of equivalent cars, i think the cloverleafvhgt race would have to be done over various condisions, eg, 0-60 the cloverleaf, 60-80 maybe the hgt, i have never driven the cloverleaf but i was a passenger in one once when i wa looking at getting one, but i just couldnt do it as the dash is the worst i think i have ever seen and i think it looks too boxy, although the last of the line ones had rounder bumper which looked nice!

just my oppinion!

I've owned both an HGT155 and a Cloverleaf and the latter is so far supeior in every way (except driving position) that it isn't even a competition. It looks better, the engine is light years ahead, it seems to handle better (although i thought they would be almost identical in that respect) it looks better, is more exclusive and i think it even sounds better (although that is a matter for some debate). The HGT was a big let down to me and wish i'd bought a cloverleaf instead, although it did feel better put together and slightly more modern in terms of the interior but these things are not really very important to me. If anyone is looking for an HGT just go and buy the Alfa instead.

from purely asthetics i would say the hgt is better looking but again that just personal preferance. i have never driven one, but i think the sound is definatly one that you can give the hgt over the cloverleaf.
