hi
my dash has stoped workin on my 53 plate stilo
i have checked the fuses and some one said it might have something to do with the clock spring
could any one tell me where it is many thanks
rob

no, there is no connection to your clock spring, this is only for the airbag and steering wheel controls.
could be a blown fuse, loose connector on the back of the dash, bad connection of D4 connector, bad earth connection.....

can you tell me where abouts the d4 connector is and how do i get behind the ash to take it off thanks

D4 connector:

the instrument cluster can be removed by removing 2 screws on the top of the cluster and two screws on the bottom of the cluster behind the flexible part at the end of the retractable steering column (lift up flexible part).
Fully retract and lower the steering column for maximum access.
remove the plastic strip on the top and gently pull out the cluster - you don't need to take it out completely if you just want to check the connector on the back.
With a little patience there's no need to remove the plastic cover of the steering column.
good luck!
