I've just recently bought a Seicento Sporting, and it says that it has a clifford g4 alarm system in it - which I hear is very good. What I would like to know is if this is a system that comes as standard or has it been fitted by the old owner? Is there any way of telling what model of alarm/immobiliser system it is? And also I hear that it is possible to get a remote start expansion system for the G4 range, is this fairly easy to fit?

Thanks.

its not standard.
your problem is the keycode system as it cannot remote start without the key in the igniton unless your bypass the code immobiliser which may cause insurance issues

not specifically true, they do make a module that will allow you to bypass the factory immobiliser and keep it in normal use of the vehicle, ie it will still be immobilised in normal use

what sensors do you have on your alarm, and how many buttons do your two remotes have? the basic ones had three buttons, and as it went on up the range you got four then you had master remotes with four buttons and a smaller fifth button on the edge at the top :)

well if its bypassing the code then its disabled,no?

only when remote started and with all the safe guards that are associated with the remote start (providing you connect them all up) it is 99.9% impossible for someone to pinch your car!! when not remote started you WILL need the coded key to start the vehicle!!
