Hey, im just curious of how many people actually have clifford alarms on their puntos? or any car for that matter?

Also what model clifford it is? and how much it set them back?

I'm going to buy the Clifford IntelliGuard 950 when i get enough money but its really expensive! lol :bang:

Anyways will you let me know please guys?

Cheers

Matt

I got a clifford, previous owners put it on. I found a recipt for £250 i don't know if that inc. product and fitting. or just fitting.

I recommend Code Alarms (USA company). Regional UK fitters and have made alarms since cars.

Most comply with insurance discounts and are very good - loud, not to sensitive but millions of features. Including auto arm, headlight switch on, trunk release, ignition protection and the clio we have with one on also had the option of a key immoboliser which can only be deativated with the key - handy when your away for long periods of time.

I've a clifford sense and tell thingy :) rate them quite highly - only issue is instead of a beep at locking/unlocking ,it tweets  dont know how to change it and clifford place wants ££ to look at it  and is miles away so cba :)

Code alarms look fairly good. With the same bits as clifford but it would cost a fortune to import the alarms and then ide have to find someone who could fit it for me.... so that i could get it certified.

Antabertha, what Toad system have you got and what Clifford system did you have?

Which would you recommend?

After having my rear windscreen popped today I decided it was time to get an alarm system installed. I really wanna get a cat 1 system and am willing to pay upto £300 fully fitted which should cover anything upto the Clifford Concept 450.

Any suggestions would be appreciated.

I have the viper alarm on mine it has a pager i have mine wired up to the fuel pump also in case I was ever faced with a hijack situation. it would kill the engine (widow closure also a proximity sensor) extras. It could also be wired up to door poppers & engine start... I don't think toad are in businesses any longer.

you know it doesnt make much difference to insurance if your alarm is "insurance approved" or not, i had an unapproved sparkrite one once and the discount i got was only £10 less than the discount they quoted if i was to upgrade to a clifford cat 1 alarm. i couldn't see the point in spending hundreds more for a £10 discount.

another point, my insurance company at the time (budget iirc) asked for proof that the alarm had been professionally fitted, so i printed myself a fake reciept out on my PC and posted it to them, they were happy to accept it, just make sure your fake reciept has the correct details of a real alarm place. they dont check anything about the reciept but they may check if the place exists so you must use real details.

Thats one way around it but it could have the slight problem of if you had to make a claim on a total loss and they come out to check the car over. What do you think they are gunna say when they see your "professionally fitted thatcham approved" alarm is in fact an Argos alarm that you fitted yourself?...... Thats right, VOID YOUR POLICY
