Technical Cleaning Idle Control valve

I have the same problems from time to time , I remove the rubber from the throttle body and spray carb cleaner into the throttle body and use an old toothbrush to clean the edges of the flap so it seals shut again , in time i plan to fit an oil catch tank to stop the it getting gummed up.

I cleaned the butterfly valve a few weeks ago - it was pretty clean anyway. I thought the idle control valve was another mechanism, no?

Anyway, here's what happened. I start the car, the revs vary between 1.5K and a stuttering 0.7k. Never stalls when just started. However, occasionally when the engine is hot it does this, and it does sometimes stall.

Seems like s sensor issue to me.

I removed my idle control valve a while back but did not see anything to clean , i could not see how it works either . the problem i had was when stationery when i went to pull away nice and slow the revs would drop like a flat spot then she would either stall or i would catch it time and give it some throttle ,

Sounds like you need to clean or replace the airflow meter.

hey... this can be good idea to create 3d parts to put in barchetta wiki

I have not yet tried to clean the airflow meter , Mine is an earlier B , so it is the just above the air filter box , is it simple to remove and what do i use to clean . ie carb cleaner as i use on the throttle body or can i use compressed air to blow it out.

I'd use carb cleaner and a cue tip.
