Hi, I'm new to Fiat Forum. I've been trying to buy a Cinquecento Soleil as a summer runabout for some months now but literally, every one that I have followed up via online ads has had a non-working sunroof. I've seen the previous exchanges about how to renew the cables and I'm confident I could do that but I don't want to buy one and find that the roof has some other insoluble problem or that the cables are no longer available etc. etc. So my question is this. Has anyone ever tried adapting a Soleil sunroof to make it manual? After all, it wouldn't be that that onerous just to slide it back by hand. Does anyone know if it is possible to remove the electrical locking mechanism and replace it with some kind of clip - much in the same way that Webasto sunroofs used to work? Any advice welcome. Thanks!

Hi there, I am just about to Sell my Cinquecento Soleil! We it as our Wedding Car in March, which was an awesome thing to do ! and a cracking choice.
I spent a lot of time and effort getting the car back into its original immaculate condition (which was a prerequisite before the missus would sit in it in her wedding dress) and one of the areas I fixed was the Electric roof.
The roof really is something to behold, it is a relatively simple assembly, buity i found a lot of the front runner components making it up were not robust for it to last long. In the end I did fix it, but I use a cautious method on opening the roof in one corner.

I am trying to findout how to upload images and i’ll do that, also i will put something on the classified section later.

Give me a shout if you are interested. I would love to keep it, but unforeseen circumstances force me to sell.

Hi,

Thanks for this suggestion. I might be interested - especially as your sunroof works! I'm in a neighbouring county too, so we can't be too far away from each other.

I rarely use internet forums so I don't know how to exchange e-mail addresses and phone numbers wihthout making them public. I've just looked and I see there is an option for private correspondence so I'll try and use that. Failing that, I'll post you another message here.
