seriously don't bother.

kind of agree, its a huge faff for little or no gain.

i have an aftermarket knob (awaits someone taking that as a sig). i preffer it over standard but its slightly wobbly on the stick and cant be sorted, its always annoyed me lol, tbh id just stick with the standard one

if you chopped it off it take pretty much zero welding skill required to weld one on or weld on the threaded top from another knob. Infact a few tacks would probably do it fine, unless your shifting like a street boss.

Edit: If having a good knob bothers you that much.

i hate having a wobbly knob, its just not as satisfying to use as it could be

Hmm the shaft is plastic :p . I guess if someone could plastic weld it. IT will be strong.

And how do you know he doesn't have a dog box? lol :p

It's plastic? I'm never ever buying a fiat... having a plastic shaft sound's like the stupidest idea, especially if your like me and you like shifting HARD and FAST.

Seriously though that's poo having a plastic shaft.

I had an alloy Ripspeed one on my old Punto and it actually made it far nicer to change gear. A lot of the driving experience can be down to the actual things you use TO drive - and though your obviously not changing the way it shifts, I think it really helps how the car feels when you drive.

I've wanted to change the one in the Stilo for a while, but it's a pressed type one onto a plastic shaft and needs a "special tool" to be removed. Think I may just hacksaw it off as some others have, got my eye on some nice Momo ones :)
