Long gone- bye bye all!
Hi all, thinking of taking the plunge into full on retro-ness but i've yet to see any pics of the 500 with the chrome strip on the bonnet or the A-Bar. Are there any around do you know? Red is my current colour choice.

Also, what is the "Chrome protector" listed in the options list? Is it a coating that stops it going rusty? Is Fiat chrome really that bad that I would need this?

Many thanks

The chrome is plastic, so it won't rust.

Not a great picture, but all the chrome.

Cheers

Thanks for that rallycinq! Bonnet strip is a bit disappointing- I'd expected more. Looks ok with the A-bar though. Is that a Jive blue Pop or a sport? I noticed you dont have the chrome line along the windows but you have chrome bumpers...

Surely the outer layer of the chrome must be metal by definition even if its only plated onto plastic...?

Nobody know what "chrome protector" is then?

At the moment i'm torn between either:

1.4 Lounge with Chrome mirrors, A-bar and Bonnet strip, side rubbing strip, Front fogs, 16inch multispoke alloys and hopefully a rear spoiler.

or

1.4 Sport with Chrome mirrors, A-bar and Bonnet strip, Chrome kit, side rubbing strip and 16inch multispoke alloys (spolier and fogs are standard)

As far as i can see, the only difference between the 2 would be the interior and the glass roof. Any other differences? Price is the same with my chosen options. Any ideas which I should go for?

If you download the brochure from the Fiat website you will see the full spec.

Off the top of my head I think one of the differences is that Lounge spec has split fold rear seats and a boot light over the Sport. The Sport has tinted rear windows as standard (an option on the Lounge) and you cant get the white 'ambience' on Sport.

you get the chrome strip along the windows as part of the chrome kit ( not a dealer fit option ). we decided on the A bar without the bonnet strip for our car ! just make sure you dont see either of them off the car because they are very flimsy and you feel a bit ripped off !! .the sport over the lounge also has. rear spoiler ,front fogs, a different speedo design, and sports seats

Its a Sport in Mod Blue.

The Chrome kit from the factory seems a bit hit and miss. Mine has not got the strips along the window, but has the chrome gear knob and chrome tail pipe, I also have the chrome 500 buttons in the side rubbing strips.

I have had the loan of a Lounge which has the chome side strips, but not gear knob or tailpipe, and when we checked all the chrome packed ones at the dealership, there wasn't a chrome gearknob to be seen!

Cheers

Oh dear !! I ordered a chrome kit for a POP so I wonder what I will get !

We got the 1.4 Sport and ordered the chrome kit, this includes the front and rear bumper inserts and chrome strip along the bottom of the side windows. We also ordered the chrome wing mirrors and A-bar. These are separate options and aren't included in the chrome kit option.

Also on the Sport, you get the chrome tailpipe, gear-lever crown and the sill plates as standard.

Hopefully we'll be posting some photos up soon, when the weather improves.
