first of all, are super/power chips worth it? for any of the bravo range? currently got a 1.4 but wanting a 1.8. or would i be better of searching for somewhere throughout tyne&wear(newcastle, sunderland, etc) for somewhere who does remaps?

samco hoses - where do they do them for bravo's? anywhere? not bothered bout the "samco" part, ha, just would like to make my engine look sweeter with a bit colour coding...

AND, how can a bravo's handling be increased without lowering???

THANK YOU EVERYONE,

Mig

on a 1.8 or an hgt chipping will give you the best bhp gain per £ you can get

Nope, only a proper rolling road tuneup will give you the best results.

The usual 'chips' are intended for near stock cars. Plus no two engines are QUITE the same, wear, age etc.. makes a difference.

well mine gained a dyno'd 9 bhp for a £300 mod, and gave me smoother power delivery throughout.

Tom do you have a chip?

Nope, will be going for a piggyback ECU in the near future.

Superchip on a 1.6 gives a claimed 6 BHP.
Niges remap (if he had the kit) gives a claimed 10BHP or thereabouts BUT most importantly adds about 20Nm midrange.

So a session on the rollers with a piggyback should gain me 10BHP ish, maybe a couple more but it will most of all gain me some nicely useful torque.

Peak power figures are really only for maxxers to wank over, midrange torque is much more useful on a road car.
