I have a Fiat Ducato 2.3 with 9 speed auto gearbox in my 2020 Carthargo.

Last week came to start and ‘check transmission’ red cog warning came up - clunking gear select and restricted to limp mode, no auto stop/start or eco/power engine modes.

Stopped engine 10 mins and warning disappeared along with limp mode. Engine manage light still on and restrictions still there.

Drove home fine, tried again this morning and the red cog ‘check transmission’ error back.

Has anyone seen this fault / any ideas please?

TIA 🙏🏽

I have had a similar issue. 8 week trip around Fr, Spain and Portugal. Van less than 12 months old. One day had driven only 2 miles overheating oil light came on. Was on motorway so continued to service station. Stopped for 20 mins and googled fault- scary! Restarted engine, red light gone. Drove 150 miles to planned stop no problems. Next morning all lights gone. Several days later in France. Same scenario, also after only a few miles. Continued my journey after pause and notified RV dealer of problem.
When back in uk took back to dealer for diagnostic. Minor electronic faults found and corrected, however on my drive home just leaving Newark bypass and fault came up again so drove straight back to dealer.
That was 7 weeks ago. In the meantime they checked oil level, and solenoid valve - all based on Fiat technical guidance. Solenoid valve removed and they found metal swarf…. New gearbox replacement now in progress, but of course it’s slow and frustrating

Very sorry to hear this and it of course fills me with dread. Need my MH back and we are no closer after weeks of investigating… metal swarf after just 12 months is shocking!

Not sure about the age of your wheels, but the gearbox alone is £7k, (and the labour will probably be similar) so get it sorted before warranty expires!🤞

I have warranty but you have a different fault and different warning messages so I’m hoping for the lower cost repair of simple wiring remedy as above. Good luck 🤞🏽
