Technical Charge schedule not working

Hi gang. I’m 6 weeks into my 500e la prima. New to me. 2022 reg.
I can’t for the life of me figure out how to get the charger schedule to work, as soon as I plug it in I get issue detection message for the charge cable and then after a while it goes and starts to charge ignoring the schedule is have set in the car and in the app.
It’s driving me insane that I can’t figure it out.
Please tell me I’m not being stupid and missing something.

I'm not a electric owner but I've just scanned through the owners manual ( https://www.fiat500owners.com/attachments/2022-500e-handbook-pdf.112379/ ) to see if I could see anything obvious.


It appears to mention that the Scheduled charging can only be used in Mode 2 or Mode 3 charging ? (Page 204)

Also if the car is waiting on a scheduled charge and LED near the charge port will light up blue ?

It's also gotta be plugged in at least 5 minutes before a scheduled charge...

and finally ... there is no finally I thought I had a finally but not right now.

It also depends how you plug it in. The manual specifies that the charger power must be on before the cable is plugged into the car, If you plug a "dead" cable into the car, and then switch the charger on, or (if the cable is not captive) plug the charger end of the cable into the charger, it does not work correctly.

Hi zaphod,

The led only lights up blue if I push the little button next to the port

Will take a look at changing the mode as it’s currently on the highest and see if that works.
