Changing Accelerator Cable

Hello there
I had a snapped accelerator cable and have been trying to get a new one fitted, i managed to get the part from the fiat garage and get all everything working except for the grommet that the cable goes through into the bulk head, this is one son of a &*$%H to push in, in doing so the plastic around it has snapped and left me with a dodgy feeling accelerator, it starts up fine and is driveable but the accelerator is tending to stay at higher revs, and taking a lot longer to come down

my advice for anyone who has this happen either get it done at a garage, or coming to the grommet through the bulk head, make sure the grommet is off the white bit of the cable before pushing in the hole otherwise it may snap like mine!!

When you're putting grommets in, use a drop of washing up liquid or hand soap and use the round end of a teaspoon to push it into place.
