is it a mk1 or 2? 3 or 5 door?

there are alarm systems you can get on ebay that come with the motors to convert to remote central locking. they are cheap but ive used them before and theyre brilliant....

Go to scrap yard, and find one with central locking, and remove door catch on doors, and the plug goes with it try to leave as much wire as possible on it, then buy this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Kit-Universal-Car-Remote-Central-Entry-Lock-Locking-New-/280715770145?pt=UK_CarsParts_Vehicles_CarParts_SM& hash=item415bf6b921
