Technical cd player doesn't seem to play

Hi there!

I've just bought my first Fiat and I absolutely love it!
I have the fiat punto grande '07 and the radio works, but it doesn't seem to like cd's so much, and comes up with 'cd error'. I've tried normal cd's and cd's I've made. It played the normal cd once but then when I started to engine it stopped working.
I read somewhere online that it doesn't accept mp3 files, is this correct?
It also doesn't have an aux input so I don't have the option of listening to an ipod or anything. I'm quite happy with the radio but would like the option of listening to cd's, so if anyone has any advice I'd really appreciate it

I don't think these things are mp3 compatible, so popping a CD full of files in MP3 format won't work i'm afraid.

If you've tried ordinary commercial music CD's and these don't play, then it sounds like the laser has gone or is dirty.

There are CD lens cleaners you can buy which may clean the lens, although I find them not to work as good as cleaning the laser with a cotton bud, which would involve removing the unit and taking it apart i'm afraid.
