Can anyone help, guy at work has a blaupunt cd changer for sale that has come out of a V registered Bravo, will this be compatiable with my X reg 80sx Brava ?. Was the changer cable installed in the model? and what does it look like and where is the easiest place to find it?

Any help would be appreciate.

What do you think a fair price would be ?

Thanks

First find out if your head unit is autochanger compatible. This should not be too hard as it will be written on the head unit itself.

If your car is autochanger compatible then a cable may have been installed, check the left hand side of your boot near the spare wheel. If you don`t find one then it`s probably not there

Lastly I am not sure if this autochanger is compatible as I visited Halfords recently and the let me try a Blaupunkt on my car and, alas, it had too many pins on its multipin adaptor cable. Best bet is to look out for a CD36/46 Grundid autochanger.

GOOD LUCK

Grundig changer

I've got the Grundig changer in my 2001 80sx, and it works very well (no skips, nice sound, fast access to discs). The car has a Grundig head unit.

We've got the Blaupunkt changer in the Punto, but it does skip occasionally, and has been repaired (under warranty) once after locking up. It also has slow access to discs, although it does hold 10 rather than the Grundig's 6.

The Blaupunkt head unit in the Punto (new shape, 2000MY) makes no mention of being compatible with the changer, but I can assure you it is! The changer is supplied with the correct lead in the box.

In both cases, changers are cheaper from a specialist than from a Fiat dealer (big surprise there, then).

Many thanks, it is definately changer compatiable, but i have had a look over the car to see if a cable is present, 1) i dont really know what i am looking for, i have been told to look by the left rear speaker and under the back seats- nothing obvious. There is a lead dangling by the driver footwell with a big square yellow plug on it Any ideas what this is?

Some one said that the changer car be installed under the right rear seat- is this ok?

thanks Ben
