I have a Sony CDX-T69 6 disc changer fitted in my HGT (mk2) - came to use it and nothing happens - shows the 6 cd's but won't play - tried to eject the magazine and it refuses to come out. It was working fine on Sunday and the next day it was dead?

Has anyone had this problem or knows how to eject the magazine?

Thanks
Simon

yea i have had this problem twice mate!! first time it refused to budge at all and had to send unit to sony for them to remove cartridge! this time it came out the next morning!! where is ure cd changer?? is it about 9 months old? do you have any cd-rs in it??

Howdo

its under the rear seat and yes there are some CD-r's in it. Have had it for about 18 months though.

I have taken it out of car at moment so if yours worked ok the next day, i may try connecting it up and see what happens?

Thanks
Si

Cd Changer

Hi

No luck - tried plugging it back in and then tried to play a cd, tried pressing in the mag, swore at it - no go. When i press the eject i can here a click so there must be power getting to it, just that there is something jamming the magazine/cd. Where did you send yours off to or did you take it to a shop?

Thanks
Si

sent mine back to the ppl that supplied it!! thats exactly what mine did first time round!! did it stop working durin a song or was it wen u turned it on again???

ive heard that you can take your cd changers.. headunit to halfords if you dont have the cable as they can bypass it to see if it works. So take it to halfords without the cable see what they say as its free/

Cd Changer

No, i used the car and the cd worked fine - parked it up for a couple of days, came to use CD next time drove car and nothing.

Will either have a go at dismantling the case as the untit is out of warrently or try and contact SONY to see if they can help.

Thanks for your suggestions though.

I've got the same problem...

...did you ever get yours fixed? If so, how?

While we're on the subject of changers, iv just moved my grundig from the boot to underneath the passenger seat because it kept jumping/skipping when i drove on normal roads. it isn't as bad now but still does it, is there anywhere else i can put it, how did you get it under the rear seat?

There's a space under the seat

Sharky,

Theres a space under the reara seat at the dirvers side, you have to cut through the carpet to use it

Tim

This is how you do it....

Under Rear Seat, held in with extra strong velcro strips from HobbyCraft.

Hi Joske,

That's a very neat job.

When you ran the cable, did you go under the centre console?

Yeah i sure did. To make it easier i removed the lower rear seats (approx 3 alan key type bolts) and the plastic lugs for the carpet.

This gave me enough room to get my hand under the carpet to the centre console. Or use a piece of stiff wire to feed the wire under.

You can either cut a hole out or just cut a flap in the carpet to keep it consealed.

I no longer have the CD changer as i bought an MP3 Headunit and i easily repaired the hole as i cut a flap and tucked it away. You cant tell on the pics. :)

CD Changer

Hi

No i never did get round to fixing it!

I basically need to take the thing apart and get the mag out. Im sure its just a jammed cd......

It's a paper weight

I've managed to get the outer case of my CDX-T69 only to find... an inner 'case'. Being such a compact unit Sony have crammed everything into a small space and there aren't any holes or access points I can see to I can attempt to free off the stuck magazine.

Has anybody successfully stripped one of these things down to release a stuck mag?

I've tracked down the technical repair manual for the cdx-t69 if anybody wants a copy, let me know.

(it's a PDF)

Repair Manual

Hi Tim

I would like a copy if you dont mind?

Might be able to get it working again and stop having to use tapes!

Thanks
