I'm currently looking for a toy to use at weekends. Dont know for sure yet if i'm getting a Barchetta but it's definently either a Tipo 16v or a Barchetta I want something different. The biggest thing that is putting me off a Barchetta is the fact it is LHD. Is it easy to get used to and is it easy to see round bends on country lanes.?

LHD. Is it easy to get used to ??

F**k yes its nothing at all !! That should be the last thing on your mind when thinking about what car 2 get. (y)

Two weeks and you will not even remember your in a LHD car.

Only down side is getting Mac D's and things like that as well as the insurance goes up.

The difference between a Tipo and a Barchetta is huge...if its a toy for the weekend then the Barchetta has to be the one!

Don't worry about which side your sat... at the end of the day you are sitting a foot to your left and change gear with the other hand...pedals are the same as normal....because bends go different ways you'll notice that your vision is the same as usual.

Go for the Barchetta...but make sure you get a good one with history DTR Sports sell good ones...(y) check out their website for forecourt cars.

Only draw back I find is narrow parking garages (Heathrow Terminal 1 is a personal favourite) and toll roads. There is toll collector on the M6 that is still laughing at my contortions trying to reach the window! The minor inconvenience, however, is nothing compared to the great driving experience you get from a Barchetta - fun, fun, fun - you will never see round abouts in quite the same way. The LHD also makes it fun to catch cheap crossings over the channel. I did a two week road trip Brussels - Berlin - Prague - Luxembourg and it was a blast! The LHD also means you can get a bargain used sports car as many people are discouraged from trying them out.

Hey! Unfair comparing the two here! They're biased!

You really need to drive both to compare. A Tipo Sedici will give you the drive the likes of which you won't have experienced. I've not seen any other car hold the road, and have the power to play like the Sedicivalvole does.

If its a toy for weekends - in britain where it rains then its got to be a Tipo. Thinking of track days too? Even more so for the Tipo.

Oh the Tipo has more grunt, faster 0-60 and costs less to insure too :D

Oi! Start being nice or I'll be having words with your section moderator!

Rust? Well yes there are a few corroded bolts here and there, what do you expect for a 12 year old car which has lived in the UK by the sea? As for looks.. I prefer the Tipo.. and I'll not mention it but its 2 letters and a number.

Pay for my petrol and I'll drive over and you can have a go of the Tipo. :D

hugs and kisses to hellcat!!!!!!!!

k i ll pay for the petrol you pay for the beer and will drive both cars!!!!!!!

how s that??
