Did anyone else on here love the game? I know i did. (y)

I have been thinking of playing it again but of course its a bit dated now.
Is there anything like it out there thats a bit more modern? I mainly want it for online playing against a mate.

OMG. YES. :slayer:

i still have the keyring that came free with the Max Pack edition of Carmageddon 1.

Carmageddon 1's multiplayer support was a bit.. well, crap. It just didn't work very well. I dont think carmageddon 2 had multiplayer support. Carmagedon 3 (TDR2000) had multiplayer support i think, but it was a crap game imo.

Yeah i used to love this too! the original is really dated now. it was 3d but all the people were 2d and it was like 320x240 resolution lmao.

yeah they were sprites, but it didnt matter

btw, it was only 320x240 if you hadn't saved all your paper round money and bought a lovely sparkly 3FDX Voodoo2. Then you could play it in Glide rendered mode

(or if you had a decent enough CPU, you could run software mode in 640x480 by using the switch -hires when loading the game.)

I download over my 56k modem the Ramadan Special:D :D

And who could forget the Cunning Stunt bonus?
I was 15 and it was many years before I understood the significance of the wording ;)

Also, the Voodoo2 wasn't available in early 1995? I believe it was the original 3dfx Voodoo that I bought at the time; the one with the pass-through cable to connect to my ET6000 2D card. It all ran swimmingly on my Pentium 133. I saved money from fixing the school's computers and so I had a $4000 PC :)

I think I still have Carmaggedon, but will it work in Windows Vista?

the voodoo2 also had a pass through, i think i got my voodoo2 in early 98. had been playing carmageddon in low res till then. had the splat back add on, and then bought max pack too. which was the proper blood version of the origonal game plus splat pack, plus a mousemat and a keyring

it works in XP, and am 90% sure it works in vista :D
