Hello I'm hoping someone out there can sort my problem, I have a Fiat Marea Weekend 2.0 ltr 20v 1998 estate, Have had the car for 4 years with no problems except 4 days ago, I went to start the car and nothing, the engine turns fine but wont fire up, I have since noticed that the orange (key code) symbol on the dash doesnt appear with the ignition on at all, I have checked all the fuses which appear to be ok, anyone out there know what i can check next??:bang:

Hello mate , same car as mine , unfortunately i cant offer any help but if you wait for a while someone like Venters/bulldog/dave will read ur thread and just plop the answer in ur lap, have you had a nose thru the manual to see if it says anything mate?

does the injector light come on and then go out as it would normally do?

just a thought but it sounds like the main fuse has blown, it can be found in the top right of the engine bay under the black cover that has 'Fuses' written on it.

No the injector light doesnt come on at all, i've just checked the main fuse again under the bonnet and its ok

if the injector light isnt coming on the ECU isnt getting any power.

the obvious one were the fuses i suggested, i think its the EFI fuse thats for the ECU.

it sounds like you might have to have some fun chasing an electrical fault.

i'll see if i can find the ecu pin number for power for you.

im sorry i stil dont understand what you mean would the nxt step for me be to get a fiat diagnostic ? i have only just learnt about them after joining your forum

Does your car have an aftermarket alarm, if so it could be this that is interfering.
I have a Toad AI606 on my 20v that works in conjuction with the Fiat Code Immobilser, but some times when I disarm the alarm and turn the ignition on the key code light does not come on and car won't start.
When this happens I just re-arm and disarm the alarm a couple of time and everythings back to normal.

Hope this helps..

Hi there. Another stab in the dark.........
Have you checked out the 10amp fuse in the box in front of the battery? My fuse wasnt blown but was manky.
Also when you turn ignition on can you hear the relays inside the car behind the glove compartment click?
There are also two fuses behind the glovebox but you would have to fully remove the glovebox to access these.
