Hi peeps. Got a bravo trofeo. Was drivin the other nyt and my system heated back window mirrors and windows went out. After a day fiddling around with it found that water had leaked into one of my side mirrors that unfortunately got smashed in by sum idiot. So took that off replaced the fuse and all electrics are bak on. One BIG problem..... car does not start even tho i have battery power because all electricals come on. The car does start tho if i jump start it. Im really confused. Can anyone help me out??? Please Please Please!!!

Did answer on the old thread you pulled up, but here it is again.

Sounds like your battery is shot, or it aint getting filled proper. Measure the voltage on the battery poles when the engine isnt running and when its runing and post the measurements

Thanks for ur replies guys. But sadly had to tow the car to a garage. Tryd jump and bump starting............nothing. Garage man put a booster on, couldnt start the car. Wimmy, the fiatcode light does stay on when i did jump start it, but he is sayin its the starter motor as it failed to even turn over when i got to the garage. Picking it up 2moro, lets c hw it goes............fingers crossed!!

Many Thanks Guys

If the code light is staying on it could be a problem with the transponder in the key. try starting it with another key or your master red one.

Its the inbuilt immobiliser. If it doesnt recognise the code it will not start even if everyhing else is working fine

Bad thing is mate. I lost my blue key ata car show. Only have the red key. My mate whos the nephew of the garage man just called me though, he got told that the starter motor has been checked and it is all burnt out.

My bet is that it burnt out after repeatedly trying to start it when the car didnt 'want' to start with a non matchin code. I hope that isnt the case

Wimmy, but if he did jump start it a few times, the imobiliser should be OK. If the imobiliser is blocked, the fuel is blocked so no starting is possible.

If its a 1.6 they have problems with some series of stater motors and if it was pushed to turn even tho the "brushes" in it where blocked - it would have melted.

But we will see when the car gets back from the shop

Hey guyz. Sorry 4 da l8 reply, the bravo is working again. Right the problems I went thru, wer the battery died out because the main wiring from the alternator had a loose nut. Dont know hw that gt loose? Thats why the car didnt wanna start up and thats hw i burnt the starter motor. Got that fixed put in a new battery, and later on that saturday the car just went out on me. Luckily 45 mins later, I sumhow got it started. Went home called my frends, they have this tester thingy that tells if the battery and alternator are ok. This unit told us everythins fyn. N then my nephew jus decided to put the key in ignition put it on accessories n giv it a lil shake n.............. wallaaaa the car started. Since that nyt the car has started 1st tym round. Thank You very much for your help n support Sven & Wimmy.

You really need 2 blue keys, have some cut as soon as possible

re

I cant believe no one mentionned the fuel cut off switch in this thread!! :)

hmm, sounds a bit dodgy it just suddentl starting up?

I'm still saying transponder in key :). Sometimes my code light doesnt go out when I put key in ignition. Take key out - shake and squeeze a little and put key back in. Code light goes out and car starts a treat :)

Can you recommend me a place other than Fiat to get the blue keys from, cut and programmed?

girlfriends punto will only start if the key is the one way up.

Take the key out turn it upside down and it won't start (immobiliser code stays on) :)
