Car hesitates

Hi,

My HGT hesitates a bit when started from cold while accelerating, otherwise it runs like hell .

Any suggestions?

When it hesitates does the injection light on the dashboard come on?

Try checking to see if there are any obstructions in the air filter, does it need a clean?

No, everything seems to be OK, except the idle control valve, which gets stuck from time to time. I'm looking for that special tool to unscrew the damn thing .
Air filter is also OK (home made cotton filter).

where is the idle control valve on 1.2 16v

Its idling at about 800rpm and on accelleration its **** until about 2000rpm. any one got a clue how to make it run better? Cheers
