can you help? failed on MOT!!!!!!!

Got bravo hlx failed mot on few points need little help to try fix them ;

1)Front windscreen & Headlamp washers dont work!

(I dont think its a pump fault as they are on seperate pumps(i have changed both anyway),it has water and it cant be the fuse either as you can hear them run!Is it blocked pipes if so how can they be sorted?

2)ABS light on

(came on when the brakes where excessively worn ,they have since been sorted,anyone know how to reset it without dealer/garage?If i could reset it, then came back on would that indicate faulty sensor? and how could i find out which one?)

3)Hand brake excessive travel

(brakes are fine,any quick and easy way to adjust the handbrake?)

4)x2 leaky shocks

(I take it you cant repair these?,do you replace in pairs(ie front&back) because they are both on the same side?,is there much difference in price between standard and aftermarket and what am i looking at price wise?)

I'd be very happy if anyone could help with any of or even better all of these questions

In regards to your other problems...

Got bravo hlx failed mot on few points need little help to try fix them ;

1)Front windscreen & Headlamp washers dont work!

Look under the bonnet under the sound proofing, the washer jets pipes may of disconnected.

The headlamp washer pipes also could of blown off. Does happen check for water dripping from the bumper. Also the headlamp washers only work with the headlights on.

2)ABS light on

Either an ABS sensor got knocked, incorrectly plugged in or damaged when the brakes where replaced. Get a diagnostic done so you know which sensor is at fault.

3)Hand brake excessive travel

Remove the rubber gator or leather gator around the handbrake and there is a bolt. Get a socket on it and tighten it up to the correct level of tightness. Approx 3-4 clicks.

4)x2 leaky shocks

Try www.buypartsby.co.uk for shockers. Its always good practise to change them in pairs. I.e Both fronts, both rears. Relatively cheap to buy.

I didnt think that headlight washers were tested for an MOT.

They're not but windscreen washers are. He prob also mentioned the lights as they prob dont work either.

I Just failed an MOT i had leaky shocks aswell. is it a common thing wiv bravos?? Not only that i need new brake pads new brake discs, handbrake tighening and a pile of ova stuff, that mean 300spot down the swanny and no car until next tuesday :'(

Leaky shocks are common on every car. They have a finite life and are really just service items in much the same way as batteries, alternators, tyres and exhausts.
