Can you fit your own LPG?

As you all know petrol prices are bad and they are hitting me with 200 a month so i need to do something quick. Bravos a re losing so much moey, mine is a great car, only 50K on the clock on a W reg but still i will only get about 1k for it private.

Therefore i regret sending a further 1K on an LPG conversion as it will take a while for me to recoup the costs!

First - Does anyone know where i can get a cheap LPG from? - Including prices etc - my car is a 1.6 SX)

Seondly, is it possible to fit an LPG system yourself, has anyone ever done this? I have found a few kits and could prob get them quite cheap, if i di decide to go down this route is there anything you can steer me away from?

Do i need to buy a certain LPG kit etc etc?

Any help you can give me re this would be excellent,

Oh, i live in the North West, place called Warrington if anyone knows a good LPG place!

You need a multipoint LPG system designed for a 1.6 engine.
In general, you can fit it your self, but I advise NOT to, here we must go through a new MOT to get the licence for it ....

The other reason is, if you get the cheaper version that doesn't have its own ECU, you must get the parameters adjusted on your Bravo, so it will run OK on both petrol and gas at the same time. And to do that, you must own a Diagnostic Machine.

just having mine convereted as we speak! (my volvo tho, - not the fiat).
Cost 1600+Vat. That's for the larger 5 cylinder kit though. To make effective savings, needs to be quality kit and set up correctly, otherwise you'll easily loose out with much poorer economy. First advice is check your compression as the gas needs good pressure - more so than petrol. Here's a couple links. Morrisons generally cheapest for autogas.
