Sheario, when we get to newark chap its all dual carriageway and motorway meaning 5th gear all the way, cruising. The route your looking at seems abit twisty, dont get me wrong i like the twistie's but my fuel tank dont. how bout you travel along the A57 and join the A1 there, u aint gotta go south to go north then.

Nah i dont mind mate...now u mention it it will help my fuel economy as well, u never know i mite hit 30mpg if im lucky!!do we really need to be there that early though, i was doing my pass plus last weekend and drove almost exactly the same route and it took just over an hour, sticking exactly to the speed limits. We aint leavin the services on M180/M18 till 9.30, so if we met at say 8 then we could get there in plenty of time, have some brekkie and have a bit of a lie in at the same time!!

i think the a17 is shut from the sutton bridge still. we have to burn through sutton village instead

Yep, we sure do smee, its only closed between the bridge and the gedney roundabout. Going through the villages is sometimes quicker anyway.
