General C635 Gearbox

Afternoon All,

I am going to change the oil in my APE gearbox this weekend. I have searched for info and believe I have all the tools etc.

My question is how much oil do I need? I have searched and found different answers on the Alfa forums varying from 1.8l to 2.8l. Can anyone shed any light on this as I need to know whether to buy 2 or 3 litres?

The APE Handbook gives the gearbox/differential capacity as 1.5 Kg (Tutela Transmission Gearforce).



The density of Tutela Transmission Gearforce is 0.85 g/cm³ at 15°C (Shop4Parts product description).

1.5 Kg @ 0.85 g/cm³ = 1.8 Litres
