right, im 14, using my dads login, ive already had 2 cars, ive had a corsa(n) and than a 2.0 tipo sedicivalvole(y). ill proberly get some stick on here because of my age, and having a car. i want an uno turbo, i was going to get one before my tipo but the tipo came up 1st, there is an uno turbo near me, it was up for sale some time ago. but it's still parked up on the drive. the thing i dont like about it is, it having a bad boy bonnet smoothed boot lid, i hate them. but i would take them of and try and get old of some other parts, it had a clutch in september, it has quite high mileage 134000, not sure if its had a recon or new turbo

i just want you guys to have your opinions on it, wheather i should bother,
and dont ask me why i want a car at my age, it's because ive just grown up with them, working on 1954 packards 1962 plymouths and cortina's with my dad, i just like sorting and tidying cars up. and it keeps me of the streets and in front of my playstation.

thanks
James

Hello James,

Yeah, no problem with wanting an Uno Turbo at the age of 14, and besides, from the tone of your post, we can tell you're pretty serious about it :) We've given far more stick to people who are basically clueless about what they want...!

Chances are an Uno Turbo will require some work anyway to get it into proper, reliable condition, plus there's that un-styling to do, so I'm sure there's plenty to pass your time with ;) Unos are great cars to work on anyway - they're designed to go together easily (and cheaply), so they're easy to take apart. Not that you need them to be easy - don't get me wrong  - it's just that they're so much more pleasant to work on than, say, a Mini.

Besides I think most of us were well on the way to taking cars to bits by the time we were in our teens, and you've got some great experience there - the Uno will seem a breeze in comparison.

See the 'Mk1 Sleeper' thread by Louie Bee - that's an ordinary Uno 45 basically providing a 're-shell' to a Turbo. It's worth doing this now most Turbos are quite rusty and there's still mint Uno 45s about. A project to consider...?

I look forward to seeing you back with your own login, as dave says, so you can keep us updated (y)

-Alex
