Hi
Can anyone give me a list of things to look at before buying a Uno turbo?
I really don't wanna buy a car that's going to break on me within a month.

Thx for you help

lol your buying an uno turbo mate not a bentley

if you want a reliable car dont bother buying one, there old, fragile and 99 percent have been abused, trust me you dont buy a uno turbo to drive it like a granny to the shops and back

Check:
-engine compression
-If it has more than 120.000 km most likely the turbo has to be overhauled
-Look for rust, a 20 year old car will have it somewhere.
-The chassis my be cracked at the B-Pillar
-exhaust manifolds like to crack and will have to be cast-steel welded
( with pre heating )
- Brakes might be worn and stuck and will have to be overhauled too
- Fuel pumps get loud
- Hoses get hard an leak ,which leads to severe malfunction of the engine set up

In general , here in rainy Germany we like to take an old UNO 45 with no sunroof and make it a Turbo.
Last UNOs were sold here by 1994 I don´t know about South Africa

If I'm not mistaken, last uno turbo's was sold here (in S.A) at about 1999.. But anyway, 2nd hand turbo's in SA is pretty much wasted, depending on how much cash you have. Visit www.junkmail.co.za, there I saw a nice uno turbo in mint condition for R45k.. But like the Afrikaner say,"goedkoop is duurkoop".. Sterkte!!!

my question is, what are you going to use the car for and also is it going to be your only car to drive around in??
