Lynz's Ka was in heavy traffic today (rush hour)when i get a phone call from her saying there was smoke pouring out the bonnet
So I belt down expecting to see the car in flames, but it wasnt.
Turns out that there was white smoke coming out of the panel gaps at the top of the bonnet/ wing and the air vents under the wipers, with a strong smell of burning in the car.
I drove the car home and all seemed well, so we left the engine to cool down, then came out later and let it idle. I have checked all the coolant and fluids and the temp warning light on the dash didnt come on, however i noticed that in half an hour of idling, the fan didnt kick in. There was also a very faint smell of burning in the car, but the heater was still blowing out hot air.
Anyone know if its normal to take so long for it to come on, cos on my Punto, it only takes 10 mins ish to come on.
This makes me think its the thermostat/ fan motor or sensor which is goosed.
Any help would be appreciated.
