Technical Bungee cord under the rear seats?

Could someone tell me please what the thin bungee type cord looped under the rear seats is for? Many Thanks....................... Jim.

Ill look in the manual, i remember sumat about them being for when the seats are removed but seem pointless to me

Ahaaaa! when you tilt the rear seats forward but dont remove them you secure the seats in the upright position by hooking the bungy to the front seat head rest bars.

Brilliant! Thank you JTDman. It's struck me before as strange that with the seats tilted forward, they could swing back on whatever was loaded behind them. Clever clever design; problem solved with a bit of high tech elastic
